How to create and manage custom contact attributes on Cheerio?

Creating and managing the custom contact attributes is very simple.


You can create custom up to 50 contact attributes based on plan (Basic, Startup, Growth, Pro, Enterprise)


To create an attribute, log in to your Cheerio Dashboard and head to the manage profile section. Here you will find the option to manage contact attributes.


Here you will see 2 different types of attributes: Default and secondary.

Default Attributes Default attributes are attributes created by Cheerio itself like name, email, phone no., created at, and updated at.


Secondary Attributes

Secondary Attributes are the attributes that you can create by yourself as per your requirements.



Creating an Attribute

You can different types of attributes on Cheerio. Each attribute requires a set data type to be followed. Here is the list of all the data types you can create.


  1. Textfield: Any text up to 200 characters

  2. Paragraph: Any text up to 2000 characters

  3. Date: To collect date in DD/MM/YYYY format

  4. Time: To collect time in HH:MM format

  5. Timestamp: To collect date and time simultaneously like DD/MM/YYYY, HH:MM

  6. Dropdown: To create a dropdown field with a list of options to select

  7. Number: Any numeric value

  8. Phone: To collect phone no with country code

  9. Email: To collect email

  10. Website: To collect the website

  11. Link: to collect the custom link

  12. Currency: To collect the amount with the country's currency



Now here are the steps to create an attribute


Step 1: Click the "Create Attribute" button on the top left. A sidebar will open


Step 2: Add a name for your attribute like email, or alternate email, and select a relevant data type from the dropdown. In this case, we can select email.


Step 3: Click the "Create Attribute" and it's done. Your attribute will be added to the secondary attributes tab.


Step 4: Click and hold the attribute to enter the repositioning state.


Step 5: Drag and drop at the desired position where you want it to appear on your contact page.


Note: Attributes follow the same positioning on the contacts page. so if you want any of your attributes to appear first on your contacts page make sure to reposition them.
